Pediakid® Colicillus® Bébé
Pediakid® Colicillus® Bébé

Exclusive feature: Patented formula

Lactic ferments must be resistant to the product storage condition and digestive enzymers after ingestion to be effective and colonise the intestine. The PEDIAKID Colicillus Bébé Reuteri+ contains two types of probiotics, carefully selected for their benefits, proven by multiple scientific studies conducted on new-borns.

Dietary supplement made with two types of lactic ferments (Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG et Lactobacillus reuteri).

The intestinal flora hosts 50% of natural defences and plays a major role in the digestion. Babies’ intestinal flora is still immature and can be sensitive to various issues (antibiotic intake, change in diet, virus) leading to abdominal discomfort (diarrea). Probiotics are strongly advised to new-borns as they strengthen the endogenic flora.

This dietary supplement contains 2 types of probiotics, Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG et Lactobacillus reuteri LR02, selected for their effectiveness. Provide 1 billion probiotic cells daily to children.

What is the intestinal microbiota?

The intestinal microbiota (or intestinal flora) is composed of all micro-organisms living in the intestine.

>Complex organ: 100000 billion bacteria
>Develop itself from birth, for 3 years
>Influenced by nutritional intakes and environment once functional balance is reached
>Efficient microbiota, rich of 500+ species

Playing a major role for our health

The intestinal microbiota plays a key role in the digestive process thanks to the fermentation process. It ensures the proper intake of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals coming from our food consumption.

The intestinal microbiota intervenes as well in the immune system and natural defences support by protecting the digestive tube from pathogenic microorganisms’ expansion (shield effect).

Throughout the life span, it will enable the immune system to develop and mature. Besides, the intestine hosts not less than 70% of immune cells.

The intestinal microbiota takes part in the sugar and fat processing and appetite regulation. It takes part in the vitamin production such as vitamin B or K.

Finally, it also makes the neurotransmitters synthesis and is particularly involved in the brain-intestine communication.

… But a fragile ecosystem

Intestinal microbiota can impoverish and loose diversity due to:

>Age

>High sugar, fat and industrialized food consumption

>Stress

>Antibiotic intake

>Functional disorder

… leading to intestinal issues (diarrhea, constipation, bloating), weight gain, drop in immune defences (prone to infections) and vitality and can become a risk factor for metabolic diseases on the long term.

Why do we need to consume probiotics and prebiotics ?

Several elements are capable to restore microbiota’s properties:

>Probiotics: Living microorganisms, bacteria or yeasts which, when are administered in sufficient quantities with the right combination, favour the intestinal microflora development and balance. They have positive impacts on the overall individual health beyond solely positive nutritional effects (WHO-FAO, 2001).

>Prebiotics: Oligo- or poly-saccharide non-digestible fibres select which intestinal bacteria (bifidogenesis) activity and development should be boosted, improving health condition.

Benefits at the intestinal level

>Establish a normal transit: fight against constipation, diminishes the frequency and duration of diarrhea linked to antibiotic intakes or infections (gastro-enteritis, food poisoning).

>Reduce bloating, abdominal pain, transit disorder

>Ease digestion, more specifically of lactose intolerant individuals.

Benefits on the immune system

Increase in the barrier function of intestinal mucous: balance back the beneficial microorganism population, stimulates mucous and antibacterial secretion produced by enterocytes, increase in IgA type antibody production involved in the immune response.

Regulate the intestinal immune system activity: Reinforce in case it weakens, diminish the overactivation in case of allergies or intestinal functioning disorder.

Benefits on the metabolic balance:

>Enhance hepatic function

>Improve energetic discharge and diminishes lipidic absorption
